Shubhman Gill, Arshdeep Singh, Abhishek Sharma and Riyan Parag have two things in common. Firstly, all four were part of the Indian team that won the U-19 World Cup in 2018. Secondly, all four have become key players in different IPL teams and have also cemented their place in the Indian team, or It seems like they are doing it. Then comes Prithvi Shaw, who captained the team that won the World Cup and was considered the best player. He got the first entry in the Indian team and also created a stir in the IPL. Now after almost 7 years, he is neither in the IPL nor in the Indian team. Now he has become a trolling medium only for cricket fans and this has also started hurting him.

No buyer found in IPL 2025 auction

In the two-day IPL 2025 mega auction in Jeddah, 182 players were bought, many of whom were new players. The 10 franchises together spent a total of Rs 639.15 crore to buy these players. But not a single franchise among them bid for Prithvi Shaw. For the first time in his short career, Prithvi Shaw will not be part of IPL.

But it’s not as if this explosive right-handed hitter is facing trolling for the first time. This has been happening continuously for a few years now, where apart from his performance on the field, his off-field activities have played an important role, which is also considered the reason for the decline of his career. Like almost all players, Shaw has also not said anything about all of this to date, but now his pain has finally come to light.

He expressed his pain over trolling

Only after the IPL auction ended, a video of 25-year-old Prithvi Shaw started going viral on social media, in which he was seen emotional and sharing his pain over the trolling. However, this video is older than the IPL auction. Shaw said that although he laughs after seeing good or bad memes, sometimes he also feels bad and sad. He said he sees every troll about himself on social media and sometimes feels like this shouldn’t have happened because it was said wrong.

Shaw often remains in the limelight and is seen at different parties, which also becomes the reason for his trolling. He also expressed his surprise that if he is celebrating his birthday, people also trick him that he is roaming around instead of taking batting practice. Shaw said he can take a day to himself and enjoy it with family and friends. The young opener said he doesn’t blame anyone for this because the people who say it haven’t seen it up close.
