The driver withdrew Rs 28 lakh from his employer’s account
Punjab Crime News (Aaj Samaj), Ludhiana: A case has come to light in Ludhiana where a young man learned a method using YouTube that defrauded his own employer of thousands of rupees. When the owner found out and arrested the accused with the help of police, the young accused had defrauded him of Rs 28 lakh. When the person found out about the fraud that was being committed, he reported it to the police. The police registered the case, launched an investigation and arrested the accused. The police are now busy interrogating the accused.
This is how they cheated NRIs
Around 28 rupees were withdrawn from the account of NRI Iqbal Singh Sandhu of Ludhiana in 6 months. When Iqbal Singh came to know about this, he complained to the police. When the police investigated, the person who withdrew the money turned out to be none other than his driver. When the accused was detained and interrogated, he confessed to his crime. He told how he had committed such a huge fraud against his boss and got Rs 28 lakh withdrawn from his account.
The police were surprised to learn the method of fraud.
The accused Palwinder Singh was working as a driver for NRI Iqbal Singh Sandhu and had gone to drop him at the airport six months ago. Meanwhile, the accused changed his SIM along the way. After this, the defendant learned through YouTube how to request a debit card and how to gain access. Following this, the accused first obtained a SIM card again using the same number and then obtained a debit card of the same number and gained access to his email.

Following this, the accused withdrew Rs 28 lakh in different ways from the accounts linked to the mobile number and email. Every time an OTP or message came, he received it instead of NRI Iqbal Singh Sandhu, which the accused continued to take advantage of. The debit card that the accused had requested from the bank was also requested by courier and had an incorrect address on it. After this, the accused took the money through Phone Pay, Google Pay or other UPI transactions by entering the petrol pump or any other person. The police are busy questioning the accused to find out where he spent the remaining money.
