According to the Panchang, the Trayodashi date of Krishna Paksha of the month Margashirsha will begin at 6:23 am on Thursday, November 28 and will begin at 09:43 am on Friday, November 29. In such a situation, according to Udayatithi, Pradosh Vrat will be celebrated on Thursday, November 28. As this day is Thursday, it is called Guru Pradosh Vrat.

On the day of Pradosh Vrat in Margashirsha, Saubhagya Yoga is being formed, which will last until 4:01 pm on November 28. During this period, a Chitra Nakshatra conjunction will also form. Worshiping family Shiva on this coincidence brings happiness in married life and all sorrows and pains disappear.

Method of worship of Pradosh Vrat

  • On the day of Pradosh Vrat, get up early in the morning, take a bath and wear clean clothes.
  • Clean the place of worship and install Shivalinga or the idol of Lord Shiva.
  • Anoint Shivling with Ganga water, milk, curd, honey, ghee and Belpatra.

What to eat during Pradosh Vrat

  • Fruit: You can eat different types of fruits like apple, banana, orange, grapes, etc.
  • Vegetables: You can eat boiled or steamed vegetables such as sweet potato, pumpkin, zucchini, etc.
  • Nuts: You can also eat nuts like raisins, almonds, cashews, etc.
  • Milk: You can consume milk or curd.

  • Don’t lie and tell the truth.

Importance of Pradosh Vrat’s Paraná

The Pradosh fast can be broken only after the Pradosh Kaal puja and can be broken by chewing basil leaves and eating fruits. If possible, provide food to a Brahmin.
