The Mahavikas Aghadi parties have still not been able to digest the terrible defeat in the Maharashtra Assembly elections. After Sharad Pawar, now Uddhav Thackeray has also become aggressive on EVM. At the Shiv Sena (UBT) meeting, the party’s defeated candidates expressed suspicions of EVM scam. After this allegation, Uddhav Thackeray has taken a big step. Uddhav has asked his defeated candidates to file a petition for a VVPAT recount.
Candidates blame EVM
In fact, Mahavikas Aghadi has been raising questions about the EVM since the election results. Shiv Sena (UBT) candidates have raised suspicions of EVM scam. In such a situation, Uddhav Thackeray has decided that a petition for recounting 5 per cent of the VVPAT will be filed in the polling stations where there are suspicions of EVM fraud.
What is the counting rule?
Uddhav Thackeray has directed all his defeated candidates to immediately file a petition for re-counting of 5% VVPAT in polling stations where EVM scam is suspected. As per the rule, defeated candidates can demand a 5% recount of the VVPAT within 6 days of the result. Today, Uddhav Thackeray will meet Shiv Sena leaders at 12 o’clock.
