Uttar Pradesh: Drivers and operators of Uttar Pradesh Roadways will now be seen in uniform. For this, a list of 37,273 people has been prepared. Rs 1,800 will be transferred to each employee’s uniform account, which will be used to purchase and sew the fabric. Wearing uniform will be mandatory for all employees from January 2025. It is estimated that around Rs 7 crore will be spent on this initiative.
Money not received for new uniform
In fact, many road employees had complained about not receiving the uniform, stating that the uniform was given to them earlier, but now it is torn and no money was received for the new uniform, so they could not sew it. Following these complaints, the Transport Corporation prepared a list of 37,273 contract and regular driver-drivers and transferred Rs 1,800 to each employee’s account for uniform. With this money, the employees have been responsible for buying and sewing the clothes themselves.
Mandatory operation of buses in uniform will be implemented from 2025
The requirement to operate buses in the same uniform will take effect from January 1, 2025. After this, a fine will be charged to employees who do not wear uniforms. A fine of Rs 50 will be imposed for the first offence, Rs 100 for the second offence, and Rs 150 for the third offence. After this, recovery will be made from salary by increasing the fine amount by Rs 100 each.
Expenses of around Rs 6.75 crore.
Let us tell you that the number of UPSRTC regular drivers is 3390 and the number of drivers is 2370, while the number of contract drivers is 14,794 and the number of drivers is 16,719. Transport Corporation Managing Director Masoom Ali Sarwar has directed all officials to submit the fixed amount for uniforms. This will cost around Rs 6.75 crore.
