Debutant director Faraz Arif Ansari’s first feature film ‘Bun Tikki’ is going global. The film starring Shabana Azmi, Zeenat Aman and Abhay Deol will have its world premiere in California on January 5. The film will screen at the 36th Palm Springs International Film Festival (PSIFF). What is the story of Ban Tikki?
‘Bun Tikki’ is the story of seven-year-old Sanu who strives for self-discovery, while his father Siddhant deals with grief and social pressures while trying to understand his son as a single father. According to the filmmaker, ‘Bun Tikki’ is my love letter to the world: to every child, every parent and every person who believes in the transformative power of love, empathy and kindness.

Based on a father-son relationship, this film stars two of the most famous veteran actresses of their time. National Award winning actress Shabana Azmi is working with her former co-star Zeenat Aman in Ban Tikki. He last worked in the 1974 film ‘Ishq Ishq Ishq’ and the 1982 film ‘Aashanti’. Apart from this, Abhay Deol plays the lead role in the film. He was last seen in the 2023 film ‘Trial by Fire’. Nushrat Bharucha and Rohan Singh will also play important roles in the film.
