A prisoner held in Kannauj district jail in Uttar Pradesh had completely lost hope of being released. He was in prison about 11 months ago for an assault case. The prisoner Shiva has no family, so there was no one who could collect his bail and no one who could defend him. In such a situation, after the help provided by the Legal Services Authority, when the prisoner Shiva came out of the jail, he started break dancing in front of the officers at the jail gate. Prisoner Shiva was so happy to be released that he couldn’t help but dance, a video of which is now going viral on social media.
The whole matter is before the gates of the Kannauj district jail. A prisoner named Shiva, a resident of Chhibramau area, is said to have come to the district jail 11 months ago for some matter. Shiva could not read or write. He found a good environment in prison, after which he learned to read and write there. Shiva also learned to make his own sign here, but there was no one in Shiva’s family, so Shiva had lost hope of getting out of jail.

In Shiva’s case, there was no one to defend and no one to accept bail from. At the same time, the Legal Services Authority runs a special scheme whereby, to help prisoners who are completely helpless, they are provided with a free lawyer to defend their case. Complying with the full scope of the law, the Legal Services Authority worked for the release of the prisoner Shiva. Furthermore, the bail amount was also paid through an NGO, after which Shiva was released.

Shiva could not contain the joy of his liberation. Leaving his luggage behind, he began break dancing in front of officers some distance outside the jail door. Someone made a video of the prisoner break dancing and it went viral on social media. The prisoner Shiva said that he has no mother or father. He learned to read and write only after arriving in prison. He had no hope of ever getting out of jail, but he received help from the Legal Services Authority and was able to get out of jail. Shiva said he will never do any kind of criminal activity.
