Taking action in the case of death of 10 children due to fire in the NICU of Maharani Lakshmibai Medical College, Jhansi, the Yogi government suspended three employees and also removed the principal of the medical college. According to a statement issued by the state government, this action was taken on the basis of the inquiry report of the four-member committee formed on the instructions of state Deputy Chief Minister and Health Minister Brajesh Pathak.
Recently, 10 newborn babies died in a fire in the NICU unit of Jhansi Maharani Lakshmibai Medical. The government took action in this regard and suspended three people. The government has issued a statement in this regard. According to the statement, as part of the action, based on the inquiry report, Medical College Principal Narendra Singh Sengar was removed from his post and sent to the Directorate General of the Department of Medical Education.

In addition to this, a charge sheet was handed over to the university’s chief medical superintendent, Sachin Mahur, and his response was sought. Apart from this, the college’s junior engineer (electrical) Sanjeet Kumar, NICU ward in-charge nurse Sister Sandhya Rai and chief superintendent Sunita Rathore have been suspended with immediate effect. Apart from this, the inquiry report on the role of Head of Pediatrics Department Om Shankar Chaurasia, Associate Professor of Surgery Department Kuldeep Chandel and Officer-in-Charge of Electrical Department was submitted to the Divisional Commissioner.
