The BJP-led Mahayuti alliance won an overwhelming majority in the Maharashtra Assembly elections. The ruling alliance has achieved a record majority by winning 230 of 288 seats in the state. Congress state president Nana Patole criticized the Mahayuti alliance and said that even after 4 days of election results, the face of the Chief Minister has not been decided in Maharashtra. He said the BJP wants a Chief Minister who can sign files with his eyes closed. This was said by the president of the state Congress at the party’s press conference. All senior leaders of the Maharashtra Congress and the newly elected MLAs were also present.
Elections should be conducted through ballot papers – Nana Patole
Maharashtra Congress state president Nana Patole said the people of the state are waiting for the name of the new CM. But even after four days of the results, the CM’s face has not been decided. He said it looks like his friend’s order hasn’t arrived yet. Until the friend’s request arrives no decision will be made about the CM. They want a CM who signs with his eyes closed. It has also raised questions about the election results.
He said people of Maharashtra are wondering: if we don’t vote, how did the government come about? During this time, the Congress leader has insisted on holding elections through ballot papers. Nana Patole said he will campaign on the ballot papers in Maharashtra in the next two days. He said a statewide campaign will be launched to conduct ballot elections. The state president of the Maharashtra Congress says public sentiment is that elections should be held through ballot papers.
Rahul Gandhi will lead the movement
Maharashtra Congress state president Nana Patole said ballot-related campaigns will be carried out at both the state and central levels. This movement will be carried out at the central level under the leadership of Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi. He said EVM is not a problem for us. In democracy the people are larger. Congress will fight to save democracy. He says the Supreme Court’s decision on the EVM is political.
