All officials and staff of the Bihar Backward and Most Backward Classes Welfare Department unanimously took an oath against child marriage. This program was organized in the department’s assembly hall at 11 a.m. On this occasion, everyone said that we will ensure that no girl gets married in our family, neighborhood and community.
He said if we come to know of any incident of child marriage, we will immediately report it to the Panchayat and government officials. We will raise our voices for the education and safety of every child. We support the creation of an India free of child marriage.
Need to increase public awareness
During the program, officials emphasized the harmful effects of child marriage and the need to increase public awareness to end it. The department has appealed to the public to play an active role in stopping social evils such as child marriage.
Through this initiative, the department has expressed its commitment to building a “child marriage free society” in the Government of Bihar. This initiative of the department will not only increase social awareness but will also be helpful in protecting the rights of children.
Authorities take oath against child marriage
All officials and employees of the Information and Public Relations Department also took an oath against child marriage. Child marriage is a social evil and a violation of the law. Child marriage is a serious violation of human rights. Child marriage limits children’s future prospects.
Under the Prohibition of Child Marriage Act, 2006 of the Government of India, marriage of girls under 18 years of age and boys under 21 years of age is prohibited throughout the country. For violating this, there is a provision of imprisonment of 2 years or a fine of Rs 1 lakh or both.
The oath was also taken on the occasion of the Child Marriage Free India Campaign at the Government Polytechnic located in Jamui district of the state. This program was organized as per the orders of the Department of Science, Technology and Technical Education of Bihar and the Government of Bihar.
