Prepare an action plan to provide better road, drinking water and electricity facilities to the villages in the tribal areas of the state so that development of the tribal areas can be ensured. These orders were given by Revenue and Tribal Minister Jagat Singh Negi to the officials while presiding over the review meeting of development works with Pangi and Bharmour officials at the Circuit House in Dharamshala on Wednesday.
He said this is the first time after independence that within two years the inaccessible area of Bada Bhangal in Kangra district will be connected by road. He instructed officials to expedite this work.
He emphasized on exploring the possibilities of tunnel construction keeping in mind the geographical location of the tribal areas.
He said there are limited means of transportation in the state so highways are known as the lifeline of the state.
It should work expeditiously to pave the roads of Kutcha and prepare the DPR to construct new roads under Prime Minister Gramin Sadak Yojana in the tribal areas of Pangi and Bharmour and also prepare and submit proposals for link roads under NABARD so that the people of the tribal areas benefited. He said he should adopt new technologies in his work. He said the government has increased the financial powers of engineers and the tendering process has also been expedited so that more impetus can be given to development works.
Giving instructions to the officials of the IPH department, the Finance Minister said that effective measures should be taken to quickly complete the pending drinking water and irrigation works and necessary action will be taken in case of negligence in the works.
Instructions are given to improve electrical installations in the Pangi area
He instructed the officials of the Electricity Department to expedite the work of supplying electricity to the rural areas of Pangi under the 11KV power grid so that the people of Pangi area can get electricity even in winter.
