Ambala News | Ambalá. Sikh Higher Secondary School organized the second annual Sports Day on its campus on November 27, 2024 with great enthusiasm and pomp. Students from classes IV to VIII participated in this program. The chief guest of this program was Guntas Singh Gill, Director, Adesh Medical College and Hospital, and Dr. Vinay Malhotra, Agricultural Director, Markanda National Hospital and College, DEO Sir Suresh Kumar ji and Superintendent Rajkumar were present.

Other guests included Dr. Dheeraj Sharma of Banarasi Das Hospital, Dr. Komal Sharma and Mrs. Pooja Sharma, Director of Show Stopper Fashion Academy. Firstly, School Management Committee Director Sardar Jagmeet Singh Josh, Sardar Arvinder Singh, Principal Sukhjinder Kaur and Vice Principal Mrs. Rita Sharma welcomed the guests by giving them a bouquet of flowers.

The chief guest was received by the school students with the band. The sound of the band was so melodious that the parents and other guests who attended were stunned to hear the melody of the band. Subsequently, students from the four houses of the school marched and made their presentation.

The chief guest started the ceremony by releasing white doves.

As the program progressed, the lamp was lit by the chief guest. The inaugural ceremony of the Sports Day was inaugurated by the Chief Guest releasing white doves and then taking the oath related to sports. After the oath, the chief guest addressed the students with inspiring words and underlined the importance of sports.

He said sports not only improves physical health but also develops important qualities of life such as discipline, teamwork and self-confidence. The stage was graced by the school’s Hindi teachers, Madam Ritu Bhardwaj and Khushboo.

During this sports day, various sports competitions were organized, including a sack race, ball grab, relay race, one-leg race, frog race, three-leg race, helping hand game, cup balance, etc. The students participated in all the competitions with all their hard work and enthusiasm.

The children performed a play to raise awareness about the harmful effects of mobile phones.

Apart from sports, many activities were held to entertain the chief guests and visitors in between the programme, such as a play presented by the students explaining the harmful effects of mobile phones and a dance performed by the first class students.

Along with this, activities like Bhangra, Karate and gymnastics etc. were also carried out. The students’ activities were incredible and their presentations left the audience excited. In their first performance, the students of class IV made Sake Rasa in which Sohail, Ishmeet stood first, Mohit, Khushi stood second and Ashu, Khushboo stood third. The children of class five participated in the Grab the Ball game and the female students participated in a relay race.

Paras’ team was the top among the students who won and among the girls, Sonam got the first position, Anushka got the second position and Kirti got the third position. The students of class VII played a three-leg race in which the boys won. Suraj, Anshu won first place, Irfan, Ishaan won second place, Yug and Luv won third place.

Students of class VIII played Helping Hand Race in which Arjun and Sumit got first position, Tohid and Krish got second position, Ashish and Bharat got third position. In the glass balancing race of class VIII, Ramjot got the first position, Kritika got the second position and Amrita got the third position.

Among the students who participated in the science exhibition, Tanya from class 10 brought glory to the school by making a model based on Chandrayaan, Mahi from class 11 made a model based on heart and Manpreet from class 12 made a model based on waste management. These students were honored with medals for their best performance.

Games such as musical chairs and races were also organized for guests. In Musical Chair, Madam Chanchal stood first, Madam Renu stood second and Madam Jyoti stood third. While playing the race, Mr. Karan got the first position, Mr. Rinku got the second position and Mr. Jaswinder got the third position.

To make the program more exciting, games were also organized for the teachers. In the book balancing game, Madam Divya stood first, Jasbir stood second and Chanchal stood third. In cone balancing, Madam Sapna won by getting the first position. In the single stage race, Mohammad Dawood got first position, Madam Deeksha got second position and Mr. Rajendra got medals. were given to the winners.
