A high-speed train will run through India
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav told Parliament on Wednesday that the high-speed train is being designed in collaboration with BEML at the Integral Coach Factory, Chennai. The speed of this high-speed train will be 280 kilometers per hour. This train will run faster than Vande Bharat. The Railway Minister, in a written reply to a question in Lok Sabha, said that after the success of Vande Bharat trains under the ‘Make in India’ initiative, Indian Railways has started designing high-speed train sets.

Let us tell you that Vande Bharat is a semi-high speed train, which was launched in the year 2019. The maximum speed of Vande Bharat train is 160 to 180 kilometers per hour. Now a high-speed train will circulate whose speed is 280 kilometers per hour. The Railway Minister said that the construction cost is approximately Rs 28 crore. He said that under this project, 336 km of pier foundation, 331 km of pier construction, 260 km of beam casting and 225 km of beam launching have been completed so far.
Doubts arise over speed of Vande Bharat
At the same time, in response to an RTI, the Railway Ministry said that the average speed of Vande Bharat train in the year 2020-21 was 84.48 km per hour. But in the year 2023-24, the average speed of this Vande Bharat train has been reduced to 76.25 km per hour. In this regard, a railway official said that not only Vande Bharat but also the speed of many trains running in the country has decreased in those places where large-scale infrastructure work is being carried out.
