Ghaziabad: Ghaziabad police reunited a son who was separated for 31 years with his family. Raju alias Pannu, 7, who went missing from Sahibabad area in 1993, returned to his family after 31 years. Raju narrated his story, in which he described the pain of being held hostage in Rajasthan and living in inhumane conditions.
Raju was kidnapped in 1993.
Raju said that on September 8, 1993, he was returning from school with his sister when he was kidnapped. He was taken to Rajasthan, where he was brutally beaten. They were forced to work hard all day and were only given a loaf of bread to eat. At night they kept him tied up. Raju said that the youngest daughter of the family that had kept him hostage advised him to worship Lord Hanuman. He encouraged Raju to run away. Taking advantage of the opportunity, Raju hid in a truck and reached Delhi from Rajasthan.
Ghaziabad police’s hard work paid off
According to Raju, he went to many police stations in Delhi seeking help, but no one listened to him. In so many years he had forgotten his town and his home. But upon reaching Khoda police station on November 22, the story took a new turn. Khoda police provided food and drinks to Raju and spread his story to people through social media and media.
The result of this effort was that Raju’s uncle recognized him and informed the family. When Raju’s family reached the Khoda police station, the entire atmosphere was filled with excitement. The family’s happiness knew no limits after finding their son missing for 31 years. Recalling his painful days, Raju said: I didn’t think I would see my family again.

Raju’s family thanked the police. Raju’s father Tularam is a retired employee of the electricity department. He has 3 sisters in the family. In this case, ACP Sahibabad Rajneesh Upadhyay said that a young man Bhim Singh came to Khoda police station and told him that he had been kidnapped from Sahibabad 30 years ago. A case in this regard was registered at the Sahibabad police station 30 years ago. After investigation, the youth living in Shaheed Nagar was introduced to his family members.
