Chandigarh News|Zirakpur: Residents of the historic village Nabha Sahib, located on Patiala Road, have been suffering from the problem of sewage overflow for a long time. To solve this problem and meet the needs of common people, MLA Kuljit Singh Randhawa has taken an important step by inaugurating the work of laying new big sewage pipelines from High Ground Road to Patiala Road. This project will be approximately one and a half kilometer long and will cost Rs 65 lakh, which is expected to take 3 months. The inauguration ceremony was held near Guru Teg Bahadur Nature Park, where district councillors, sewage board and municipal officials, Aam Aadmi Party leaders and village residents were present.
In his speech on this occasion, MLA Randhawa highlighted the importance of this project and how it will benefit the people of Nabha Sahib as well as the residents of the Bhabat area society. “The issue of sewage overflow has become a major concern for the residents of Nabha Sahib,” he said. Installing new sewer pipes will solve this problem in the long term. MLA Randhawa also appealed to the residents of the area to cooperate in completing this project. He further said that the Punjab government headed by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is committed to the development of the people of Derabassi constituency. We are working to improve the infrastructure and solve the problems of the residents because the old politicians were only concerned with its development. Zadaki has turned the city of Zirakpur, which could have been a wonderful city, into a center of problems, the tangle of which he is trying to suggest. He said that as an MLA, it is his duty to spend the money contributed by the public as tax to improve the standard of living of the people.
