Islamabad: Pakistan, a country that nurtures terrorists, is now plagued by terrorism. The terrorists that Pakistan raised have now become snakes on its sleeve. Therefore, to cope with them, Pakistan has sought help from its friend China. After this, both countries have drawn up a plan to jointly address terrorism. Pakistani and Chinese military officials held talks on counter-terrorism and national security issues following recent attacks on Chinese civilians.
General Zhang Youxia, vice chairman of China’s Central Military Commission (CMC) and one of China’s two top military officers, is visiting Pakistan with a high-level delegation, according to a military statement. General Zhang held a one-on-one meeting with army chief General Asim Munir on Wednesday, which was followed by delegation-level talks. According to the statement, the talks focused on “issues of mutual interest, regional security dynamics, regional stability measures and enhancing bilateral defense cooperation.” General Zhang spoke about Pakistan’s counter-terrorism efforts. Terrorism has become a major topic of discussion between the two countries due to increasing attacks on Chinese nationals working in Pakistan.
Trust Pakistan, not China.
According to ‘Dawn’ newspaper, it is said that Beijing can no longer trust Pakistan when it comes to the security of its citizens. China therefore now wants a more active role in ensuring the safety of its citizens in Pakistan, but the ministry says counter-terrorism cooperation between the two countries is based on mutual respect for each other’s sovereignty. According to Dawn News, both sides discussed India’s role in the region and developments in Afghanistan, especially the presence of terrorist groups. (Language)
