Which will bring all the information related to PAN card at one place…. Till now there were different websites for PAN related jobs… but now all the work can be done on one website…. This includes creating a PAN card, updating it, making corrections, linking it to Aadhaar, reissuing it…. And tasks like checking the validity of the PAN card are included… The QR code helps to verify the information of the PAN card…. As far as QR codes are concerned…they have been coming on PAN cards since 2017-18…but now they will be mandatory…now they will be dynamic i.e. the latest information from the PAN database will be visible on them…. By exchanging the QR code, information about the person’s photo, signature, name, father’s name, mother’s name and date of birth will be available. For this there is no need to create a new PAN card separately. The old PAN card will remain valid….

At the same time, the PAN card can be upgraded to the new design with QR code without any additional charge… However, if a physical card is required, then you will have to apply for it…. And for this you will have to pay fifty rupees….. The absence of the QR code on the PAN card will not affect its validity…. As per the provisions of the Income Tax Act, 1961, no person can hold more than one PAN card. While if a person has more than one PAN…. You will then need to report this to the Assessing Officer in your jurisdiction…. And the additional PAN will have to be deleted or deactivated….

Let us tell you that with the implementation of the advanced QR code-based system under the PAN 2.0 project, identification of fake cards will become easier. And taxpayers will not be able to have more than one PAN card. However, the existing PAN cards will remain valid even after the introduction of the new system. And the taxpayer will not need to apply for a new card. The PAN 2.0 project aims to create a ‘Uniform Commercial Identifier’ for all digital systems of government agencies… PAN number is a unique ten-digit alphanumeric number issued by the Income Tax Department… Issued specifically for the Indian taxpayers… As per the statement issued by CBDT, the objective of this project is to better manage the process of issuance of PAN and TAN… and its management and With an aim to modernize… This project focuses on the integration of multiple digital platforms and efficient services for PAN/TAN holders…. Tax deduction and collection account numbers will also be included in this project…. At present, there are around seventy-eight crore PAN and seventy-three lakh twenty-eight TAN accounts… CBDT, the apex body of the Income Tax Department, said PAN related services are available on three platforms different: electronic filing portal, UTIITSL portal and Protege e-government portal…. But with the implementation of PAN 2.0, all these services will be available in a unified portal….

With the help of the integrated portal, apart from applying for PAN card application, correction and linking of Aadhaar with PAN, online verification of the card can also be done… CBDT has said that PAN holders existing ones must apply for a new card. It doesn’t happen… And they have to be applied in the same situation…. When they have to update their data…. PAN cards issued under the new system will be equipped with a QR code so that the data entered on the card can be verified through a digital medium. This will help curb fake apps. And no person may keep more than one card…. However, CBDT has clarified that installation of QR code on PAN is not something new… and it is present on PAN card since 2017-18. But in the PAN 2.0 project, the QR code will be equipped with a dynamic feature… through which one will also be able to view the latest data present in the PAN database… This includes information about photograph, signature, name, parents’ names and date of birth. .

Let us tell you that CBDT said that taxpayers who have old PAN cards without QR code will have the option to apply for a new card with QR code. In addition to this, it has been clarified in the FAQ that even after the introduction of the new system, people…. And the PAN in the power of the businessmen will remain in force…. And there will be no need to change it…. However, to get a physical PAN card, the applicant will have to pay a fee of fifty rupees. To protect personal data recorded in PAN, the ‘PAN Data Vault System’ will be mandatory for all entities using this data.
