To make Maha Kumbh plastic-free, shops are being allotted to Dona Pattal vendors. More than 1,500 Ganga Sevadoots to be deployed

Vivek Chaturvedi said that more than 1,500 Ganga Sevadoots are being deployed, who will carry out cleanliness drives at the fair and motivate devotees to avoid using plastic. According to him, their training has begun and there is a plan to increase their numbers as per need. He said that ‘Har Ghar Dastak’ campaign is being carried out to create awareness about plastic-free Mahakumbh, so that all people can participate in this initiative.

You won’t find plastic bags in any store.

Chaturvedi said that in addition to this, the message of plastic-free Mahakumbh is being conveyed in all the facilities so that devotees are conscious and do not use plastic. An additional fair official said that strict instructions have been given to all institutions and vendors deployed at Maha Kumbh to follow the rules of plastic-free Kumbh and they have been warned that action will be taken against them if they violate the instructions. In such a situation, it is clear that plastic bags will not be available in any shop during the Kumbh Mela.

AIIMS, Army doctors to provide treatment during Maha Kumbh

A 100-bed hospital is being prepared at the parade ground to cater to devotees coming from India and abroad to attend Maha Kumbh. Specialist doctors from AIIMS Rae Bareli and Army Hospital are being deployed here. Senior Medical Officer Dr. Gaurav Dubey, who is looking after the responsibility of this hospital, said that there are strong preparations to ensure that the devotees who come to Mahakumbh do not face any kind of problem. The 100-bed hospital at Parade Ground is almost 70 per cent complete. He said that during the fair doctors will be deployed round the clock where facilities will be available as per OPD capacity and separate rooms for men, women and children are being prepared. Dubey said that apart from this, apart from the maternity ward, emergency room and doctor’s room, there will also be special arrangements for testing here.

There will also be eight small hospitals.

Gaurav Dubey said that eight small hospitals of 20 beds each with special facilities are also being prepared. The ‘Army Hospital’ is constructing two ICUs of 10 beds each in Mela and Arail area, where all types of facilities will be provided to the devotees. At the same time, AIIMS Rae Bareli will create a 10-bed ICU at the 25-bed Jhunsi hospital, where 24-hour healthcare facilities will be available to patients. He said that in addition, two hospitals have also been set up for the prevention of infectious diseases, where specialist doctors will be deployed. (PTI input-language)
