Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Friday accused the Bharatiya Janata Party-led NDA government of discrimination. Reddy said the central government discriminates against southern states in terms of allocation of funds and development projects. Reddy, targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi, asked what the Center has done for the country. The Telangana Chief Minister also alleged that the BJP is raising emotional issues to win elections and trying to break other parties.
‘An attempt to bring the South-North division to the country’
Revanth Reddy sarcastically said that the NDA government’s contribution was that it introduced three black farm laws (which have now been repealed) and created unemployment in the country. He said: ‘They are trying to create a South-North divide in the country. Whenever the Congress was in power, whenever a Congress leader was Prime Minister, there was a tradition of giving the post of President to South India when a North Indian leader became Prime Minister. Reddy claimed that many South leaders, from Neelam Sanjeeva Reddy to APJ Abdul Kalam, became presidents as per the North-South agreement.
“You are trying to spread hate”
Telangana CM said, ‘But you have refused to give anything to the South. You want our votes, our money. But in return you are trying to sow hatred. He said that the objective of the BJP and Modi is only to win the elections. Chief Minister Reddy alleged that Telangana and other southern states were not getting their fair share in proportion to their contribution to the Union treasury. He also accused the BJP and BRS of trying to stop Telangana’s progress. Let us tell you that Reddy often keeps targeting the BJP and the Modi government on various issues.
