BJP-Shiv Sena alliance broke up
In the 2019 Maharashtra Assembly elections, the BJP and Shiv Sena alliance once again won a majority. The BJP had won 105 seats on its own. However, Shiv Sena then raised the issue of sharing the post of Chief Minister for 2.5 to 25 years. After this something happened that no one had ever thought of. The 30-year alliance between BJP and Shiv Sena broke down.
Fadnavis took oath early in the morning.
On November 23, the then Governor of Maharashtra, Bhagat Singh Koshyari, took the decision to dismiss the President’s government from the state. A few hours later at 7.30 am, Devendra Fadnavis was sworn in as CM of Maharashtra and Ajit Pawar was sworn in as Deputy CM.
He had to resign after 80 hours.
Immediately after Fadnavis took oath, the Congress, Shiv Sena and NCP appealed to the Supreme Court. Later on November 26, the Supreme Court ordered that the floor test be conducted on November 27 and said that the entire process should be concluded by 5 pm and should also be telecast live. However, soon after, Ajit Pawar resigned from the post of deputy CM. At the same time, after exhausting options, Devendra Fadnavis also resigned. Fadnavis resigned on November 26, the fourth day after taking oath.
