72 km road to be extended to border villages of Ajnala
Breaking News from Punjab (Aaj Samaj), Jalandhar: Thanks to the continuous efforts of the state government, the army has given its permission to widen the approximately 72 km long road leading to the border villages of Ajnala area. From which dozens of villages and the army will benefit. Previously this road was five and a half meters wide, but will now be widened to seven meters wide.
Minister of State for Overseas Indian Affairs and Administrative Reforms Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal on Thursday held a meeting with senior army officials, during which the officials assured to increase the width of Ajnala road from 5.5 meters to 7 metres. . In the meeting held at 11 Corps Headquarters, Jalandhar Cantt, the Cabinet Minister said that the long-standing demand of the people will now be met, which will provide a definitive solution to the traffic problem in the area.

The road remains under the jurisdiction of the army.
Giving detailed information in this regard, Dhaliwal said that this 72 km long road is under the jurisdiction of the Army. He said that during the sugarcane season there were traffic jams on the road due to the movement of cars and he raised this problem with the Ministry of Defense, the conclusion of which was taken today. A meeting has been held with General Ajay Chandpuriya and his team. He said that after assessing the road at the spot, senior army officers assured that the road will be widened and it has also been requested to be completed next year.
