Mumbai: Amid the ongoing suspense over the formation of the new government in Maharashtra, Eknath Shinde suddenly left Mumbai today for his native district of Satara. He will remain in his hometown for the next two days. He will return to Mumbai on Sunday evening. According to sources, Eknath Shinde is angry and that’s why he left for Mumbai. According to sources, Eknath Shinde wants to stay with the Home Ministry along with the Deputy CM, but he will not stay with the Home Ministry, which is why he is angry.

Mahayuti meeting on Sunday night at 8 pm

However, after Shinde returns to Mumbai from Satara, a Mahayuti meeting may be held at 8 pm on Sunday night. At this meeting there will be a final discussion on the division of ministries. Leaders of the BJP, the Mahayuti’s largest constituency, said they were awaiting the arrival of central observers for the legislative party meeting. Meanwhile, Shiv Sena leader Uday Samant rejected speculation that Shinde was angry and that was why he had left for his native village. Sources said the new government is expected to take office next week.

Shinde met Amit Shah in Delhi

Earlier, while speaking to reporters in New Delhi on Thursday evening, Shinde had said that talks with Union Home Minister and BJP leader Amit Shah on government formation were positive and the next round of Discussions will take place in Mumbai on Friday. However, BJP sources said no meeting of the Mahayuti leaders was scheduled for Friday. During his visit to Delhi, Shinde met Shah and discussed the formation of the next government in the state. Shinde’s colleagues in the outgoing state cabinet, Devendra Fadnavis (BJP) and Ajit Pawar (NCP), also met Shah. Shinde returned to Mumbai on Friday morning. In the afternoon he left for his native village Dare in Satara district of western Maharashtra.

Shinde will not be an obstacle to the formation of government

Earlier, Shinde was at the chief minister’s official residence ‘Varsha’ in south Mumbai where he met several visitors including party leaders and MLAs. Shiv Sena leader Shinde has said many times that he will not become an obstacle in the formation of the government and will follow Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Shah’s decision regarding the next Chief Minister. Following the BJP-led Mahayuti’s landslide victory in the recently held assembly elections, divergent opinions are emerging within the Shiv Sena regarding Shinde’s place in the next government. Many Shiv Sena leaders tell Shinde that if the BJP offers him the Deputy Chief Minister’s post, he should accept it. However, another section feels that it would not be right for him to accept the post of Deputy Chief Minister after being Chief Minister for over two and a half years, sources said. BJP MLAs have not received any information about the legislative party meeting where they will elect their leader. Fadnavis also returned to Mumbai on Friday after meeting Shah in Delhi over government formation. (input language)
