Information about Indians in Israel came to light.

Western Asia is currently going through a period of war. On one side are countries like Hamas, Hezbollah, the Houthis and Iran, while on the other Israel faces all of them alone. Amid the war, on Friday, the Ministry of External Affairs delegation led by India’s Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri presented complete briefings to the parliamentary committee. The Foreign Ministry delegation also briefed the parliamentary committee on the war in West Asia as well as the India-China deal and the India-Canada diplomatic row.

How many Indians are there in Israel?

The Foreign Ministry delegation informed the parliamentary committee that there are currently an estimated 30,000 Indians in Israel. As per the agreement between India and Israel, around 9,000 construction workers and 700 agricultural workers have been moved there. The delegation also briefed the Committee on its efforts to assist Indian citizens present in Israel. He also reiterated Prime Minister Modi’s position that India wants the crisis to be resolved through dialogue.

Agreement with China and tension with Canada are also being discussed

According to the information, in the parliamentary committee meeting the members also raised the issue of agreement between India and China to resolve the border crisis in eastern Ladakh. Along with this, the bitterness in relations between India and Canada was also discussed. At the meeting, officials responded to both issues. The Ministry of External Affairs has claimed that the India-China deal will restore the pre-border crisis situation in 2020.

Shashi Tharoor presided

Congress MP Shashi Tharoor chaired the Parliament Standing Committee meeting. After the meeting was over, Shashi Tharoor said that it was a meaningful meeting. India’s stance on Israel and Palestine has also been discussed in detail. Tharoor thanked Foreign Minister Misri for this. (input language)
