The Congress has released the second list of 23 candidates in the Maharashtra election battle. Most of the names on the list are from the Vidarbha region. The Congress has given tickets to Girish Pandav from Nagpur South, Shekhar Shinde from Wardha and Anil Mangulkar from Yavatmal. Congress will also publish the third list of candidates today.
The first list was published by Congress two days ago, which included the names of 48 candidates.
According to the Congress, Rajesh Tukaram from Bhujbal, Swati Wakekar from Jalgaon, Anuja Sunil Kedar from Savaner, Pooja Thakkar from Bhandara, Basant Purke from Ralegaon, Suresh Bhawar from Kamathi, Dilip Bansod from Arjuni and Vijay Patil from Basai have been candidates.
The party has also given symbols to Kalu Badheliya of Kandavali-East, Jitendra Moghe of Ami, Kailash Gorantiyal of Jalna, Ganpat Rao Patil of Shirol.
71 names published, the final list will arrive today
Congress has released 71 names so far. The party will also announce the final list today. The Congress has currently declared 85 seats, but the party is said to field candidates for at least 90-95 seats. To this end, conversations are held with allies.
Earlier, the Congress had announced the names of veteran leaders in the first list. A total of 48 candidates were declared in the first Congress list, which included the names of opposition leader Vijay Wadettiwar, state president Nana Patole, former CM Prithviraj Chavan and Balasaheb Thorat.
How many MVA candidates declared?
Mahavikas Aghadi has so far declared candidates for 196 seats. These include the names of Shiv Sena (UBT) candidates in 80 seats, Congress in 71 seats and NCP (Sharad) candidates in 45 seats.
There are 288 assembly seats in Maharashtra and there are 6 parties within Mahavikas Aghadi. The images of CPM, Shetkari and SP are yet to be cleared. SP demands 5 seats.
