Bhopal: Political activities related to the assembly elections being held in Budhni are in full swing. Meanwhile, there has been political tension over the statement by Karthikeya, son of Union minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan. Speaking at a public meeting in connection with the Budhni by-election, he said that if the Congress candidate wins the by-election, “not even a single brick will be laid in any village.” A video of his alleged statement went viral. Social media, with senior Congress leaders and Rajya Sabha member Digvijay Singh, came under fire. Singh advised him to desist from making such comments, while Karthikeya responded by accusing him of “not doing anything significant” during his 10 years as chief minister.
He delivered a speech in the town of Budhni, Bherunda.
By-elections will be held on November 13 in Budhni assembly seat in Madhya Pradesh. The post fell vacant after former chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan resigned after winning the Lok Sabha elections from Vidisha constituency. Earlier this week, while addressing a meeting at Budhni town in Bherunda in Sehore district, Kartikeya Singh Chauhan had said, “Why should we ruin our reputation by changing our voting? Don't we need to go to our Chief Minister to do the work? Don't we need to contact our respected Agriculture Minister to do the work?'' He said, ''Sarpanch ji, tell me how you will do the work? , how will we meet the leaders and ask them to do the work? What path will you build? Even if a Congress MLA wins by mistake, although this is not going to happen, but even by mistake it happens, then everyone must understand that it does not happen. not a single brick will be laid in any village.
Digvijay Singh said: Learn from your father.
While sharing Karthikeya's video, Digvijay Singh advised him to learn from his father Shivraj Singh Chauhan and not speak that language. The Congress leader said, “Kartikeya, don't make such speeches right now. Learn from your father. In a democracy, the government and the opposition cooperate together in building India. I was Chief Minister for 10 years, but I never used “Your father is a witness to this. It is not the responsibility of the MLA to carry out construction work, but you are neither a Sarpanch nor an MLA. My opinion is whether you consider it appropriate or not.” Kartikeya reacted sharply to the former prime minister's advice and said he respects Digvijay Singh, who is a senior Congress leader and two-time MP from Madhya Pradesh.
Congress comments create fear: Karthikeya
Karthikeya said: “I am really proud that you are following me and my comments closely. As far as your (Singh's) comments and those of the Congress leaders are concerned, they only create fear. I tell you that the people of Budhni is afraid of his 10 years of rule, when you left the state on the brink of destruction. People are afraid of your government. Singh) wanted to learn, but you never did anything during your 10 years of rule.'' Karthikeya's name was being circulated as a possible candidate for the Budhni by-election, although the BJP has chosen former MP Ramakant Bhargava. Apart from Congress MP Ramkumar Patel, the by-election will also be held in Vijaypur on November 23.
