Lucknow. The last date for nomination of candidates for the by-elections to be held in 09 Uttar Pradesh assembly seats was October 25. State Chief Electoral Officer Navdeep Rinwa said 78 candidates filed their nomination papers on the last day. So far, a total of 149 candidates have entered the electoral battlefield. In this UP election, it has become clear that if it is about NDA and INDIA then the fight in UP is directly between BJP and SP. After the Congress withdrew from the electoral field, the SP declared war by fielding candidates for all 9 seats.
If we talk about the BJP, then the BJP fielded candidates for eight seats and gave one seat to the RLD. The BJP did not give entry to any candidate from its other allied party. Sanjay Nishad continuously tried to get a nomination in the elections, but failed. After the candidates introduced themselves, the discussion on PDA began once again. However, since the Lok Sabha elections, SP president Akhilesh Yadav has been contesting the elections on the basis of PDA (backward Dalit minority). The BJP has also tried to counter Akhilesh's move and because of this, the BJP has tried to respond to the PDA with the PDA itself, but only the election results will tell which PDA will prevail over whom. It is noteworthy that amidst the electoral hustle and bustle in the UP by-elections, all the candidates have registered their presence by filing nominations. Let us tell you that 9 MLAs from UP were elected as MPs in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, after which they resigned their membership in their assembly, thus leaving these seats vacant. While Irfan Solanki, who was SP MLA from Sisamau seat in Kanpur, was convicted in a gangster case, following which Sisamau seat in Kanpur also fell vacant.

This time the political parties actively participated in the by-elections.

After the nomination, almost all the candidates have begun to fight in the electoral field. SP and BJP have also released the list of their star activists. We will soon see great leaders from both parties holding public meetings and roadshows. In fact, since Diwali falls on October 31, not all big leaders are seen coming down to the ground to campaign. Everyone is waiting for Diwali to pass, after that the political atmosphere in UP will heat up. In most cases, by-elections are rarely taken seriously. This is considered to be a one-sided game by the ruling party, but if you look at the activism that is being seen among political parties this time regarding the UP by-elections, it seems that these by-elections themselves were completely different from the previous ones. -Elections held so far. The reputations of Yogi Adityanath, Rahul Gandhi, Akhilesh Yadav and Mayawati are at stake in these by-elections. The 2027 UP Assembly elections are still far away, but as of now these by-elections are considered the Assembly semi-final. That's why everyone has put all their strength into winning it.

Mirzapur. After the announcement of the BJP candidate for the Uttar Pradesh Majhwan Assembly seat, there was a huge stir in the Nishad Party and the stir grew so much that party chief Sanjay Nishad also got involved in it. As soon as the BJP announced its candidate for the Manjhwa seat in UP, Harishankar Bind, who left the BSP and joined the Nishad Party, resigned from the party. After resigning, Harishankar Bind leveled serious allegations against party chief Sanjay Nishad.
Harishankar Bind said that they demanded Rs 2 crore from him in the name of the ticket, of which he gave Rs 15 lakh to Sanjay Nishad, but still he did not get the ticket. Bind said Sanjay Nishad has reached an “agreement” with him and has announced that he will openly oppose the BJP candidate in the by-elections. A video of Harishankar Bind is also going viral on social media. With this he makes serious accusations against Sanjay Nishad. He said when they (Nishad Party) have no seats in their account, why did they take Rs 5 lakh from us in the name of the petition? Should it be confirmed first and then the application money collected? Bind said they told us to keep trying, keep working hard, and you'll get the ticket. All the survey reports were in our favor but we came to know from sources that we had been negotiated.

He gave money to Sanjay Nishad's wife.

Bind said they called us to Delhi first. State Secretary Babu Lal came to our residence and said Sanjay Nishad wants to meet him. On June 2 we went to Delhi. The meeting will take place on June 3, there I spoke to Sanjay Nishad. He said you should come to Lucknow after 6-7 days. They go to Lucknow and ask the PRO to register them. When we asked him how much money would have to be deposited, he said five lakhs. We deposited five lakh rupees in cash there. We gave the money to Sanjay Nishad's wife and submitted the application.
