This time a dispute has arisen between local residents and the Noida Sector-71 administration regarding the organization of Chhath Puja. This year, after Chhath Puja was allowed to make a pond in the children's playground located in the Shiv Shakti apartment, residents expressed strong objections to it. This park has been made for children to play, women to walk and the elderly to rest. But this year the Shiv Shakti Chhath Puja Committee has planned to organize Chhath Puja here, due to which security concerns have increased among local residents.
Residents of Shiv Shakti Apartment say that Chhath Ghat is being built by the Noida Authority at a distance of just 200 meters for the last 22 years. Here Shree Sahyog Chhath Puja Committee (registered) organizes Chhath Puja collectively every year. Residents believe that when Chhath Ghat is already available, allowing puja by constructing a new pond in the playground is unnecessary and risky for the safety of children.

This park has children's swings and other play structures. Women and older people come here regularly for walks. Residents fear that constructing a pond and conducting puja could put the safety of children and elders at risk. Filling the pond with water can also increase the risk of an accident. Especially for children, who can accidentally fall into the pond while playing.
The park was booked by providing incorrect information to the parks department.
Aside from this, there is potential for damage to park structures due to excavation, which will limit play space for children. At the same time, the local people have appealed to the Noida Authority and the Parks Department to cancel the permission to organize Chhath Puja at the playground. He says if Chhath Ghat is available just 200 meters away, then allowing puja by making a pond in the park is not only unnecessary but can also create social tension. The residents also allege that the Shiv Shakti Chhath Puja Committee has booked the park by providing wrong information to the Horticulture Department, while the authority has given permission without conducting a full investigation.
'Noida Authority should immediately intervene in this matter'
Some residents believe the dispute is politically motivated and claim the issue is being politicized. He says Noida Authority should immediately intervene in this matter and resolve this dispute keeping in mind the safety of children and elders. Residents say that for the safety of children and the elderly, the park must be kept within its original purpose and the administration must resolve the issue by canceling the permit before the dispute escalates.
