The dispute between India and Canada deepens
In fact, on October 13, Canada had appointed Indian High Commissioner Sanjay Verma to investigate the murder of Hardeep Singh Nijjar. But before Canada could take further action, India recalled Sanjay Verma and five other diplomats. Following this, India expelled six Canadian diplomats. This diplomatic dispute escalated further when Ottawa hinted at possible sanctions against India, which India rejected.
In fact, Canadian officials accused Indian agents of engaging in “murder, extortion and violence against Khalistani supporters” and even attempted to link the Bishnoi gang to shadowy criminal activities on Canadian soil.
“The problem is that there is a small minority there, but they have transformed themselves into a large political formation. Unfortunately, the politics of that country are perhaps giving a certain degree of play to that political lobby, which is not only for us and ours. It is bad for relations, in fact I would say it's bad for Canada too,” Jaishankar said.
What did Jaishankar say about the Russia-Ukraine war?
Speaking about the war between Ukraine and Russia, he said that three years have already passed. How many countries in the world had the ability to go to Moscow and meet with Vladimir Putin and to go to Ukraine and meet with (President Volodymyr) Zelensky? The world believes that India has this capability. India has spoken openly on this issue. He also said that the most powerful countries in the future will be those that have better human resources.
