The name of the police custody should be changed to torture house… Akhilesh Yadav, furious after the death of a person in Lucknow.

Former Uttar Pradesh CM Akhilesh Yadav has focused on the incident of death of a person in police custody in Lucknow.

The case of the death of a youth in police custody has gained momentum in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh. The name of the deceased is Mohit Pandey. After the incident, family members also blocked the road demanding action against the guilty police officers. Now, former CM of the state and Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav has made a scathing comment on this issue. The former CM said this is the second news of death in police custody in the last 16 days in the capital.

Akhilesh Yadav further said that the government, which is adept at changing names, should now change the name from Police Custody to Torture Home. Every demand from the victim’s relatives must be attended to, we are with them. This statement by the former CM came at a time when the victim’s family had blocked the road in front of the minister’s residence located in Vibhuti Khand. The women of the family were also seen protesting on the road.

MP Yogesh Shukla met the victim’s family

On the other hand, MLA Yogesh Shukla met the victim’s family. He also provided assistance to the family. Family members say Mohit Pandey died in police custody. However, the police refuse to accept the family’s claim. The police have also released a video from the cell in which Mohit Pandey is lying on the floor while his companions caress his back. Apart from this, a companion is also seen calling the police.

Lawsuit after mother’s complaint

The police have also registered a case on the complaint of the deceased’s mother, Tapeshwari Devi. In the complaint, the family alleges that the youngest son, Mohit, was first beaten by the police, after which he died in the cell. In the complaint filed by the mother of the deceased, a case has been registered against the in-charge of police station Chinhat Ashwani Chaturvedi and other unknown persons under several serious headings.

What’s the whole deal?

On Friday, Chinhat police arrested Mohit and his brother Shobharam in connection with a fight. Mohit’s health deteriorated at Chinhat police station on Saturday morning. He was admitted to Lohia Hospital. He died during treatment. Mohit was a resident of Nai Basti Jainabad village in Aptran area located on Deva Road, Chinhat.
