The honor of two veteran leaders is at stake in the UP by-election from Phulpur Assembly, because this by-election will be Keshav Vs. Inderjeet. The BJP has appointed deputy chief minister Keshav Prasad Maurya in charge of this post, while the SP has handed over the responsibility of Phulpur to the national general secretary and former minister. So this seat has become a cause of concern for the candidates along with two great leaders of UP.
Recently, UP Deputy CM and Phulpur in-charge Keshav Prasad Maurya showed his strength by nominating his candidate Deepak Patel along with many stalwarts including two ministers Dayashankar Singh, Rakesh Sachan, former cabinet minister Siddharth Nath Singh and MP Praveen Patel.
‘The deflated bicycle’
The deputy CM told his address that the bike had deflated and had been brought to safety. He has claimed victory for the BJP in all 9 seats. The Bharatiya Janata Party has prepared a strategy to withdraw from the assembly by-elections after a poor performance in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
The responsibility of the by-election to the Phulpur assembly seat fell on deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya. Phulpur is considered the fortress of Keshav Prasad Maurya. He has been a deputy here. In such a situation, the responsibility of making the BJP win this seat once again has fallen on their shoulders.
Akhilesh handed over the responsibility to Indrajit
Meanwhile, SP national general secretary Inderjit Saroj is a former leader, Akhilesh Yadav has put him in charge of Phulpur and given the responsibility of winning this seat. SP has given ticket to Mujtaba Siddiqui.
Indrajit was once close to Mayawati
Let us tell you that Inderjit Saroj was once close to BSP supreme leader Mayawati. Dalit leader Inderjit Saroj joined the Samajwadi Party in 2018. Through SP national general secretary Inderjit Saroj, Akhilesh is seen laying the foundation of his backward Dalit minority i.e. PDA politics in Phulpur. After which it has become a matter of credibility of two big giants in Phulpur.
The vote will take place on November 13.
Let us tell you that recently, after the announcement of assembly elections in Maharashtra and Jharkhand, the Election Commission had announced by-elections to 48 assemblies and two Lok Sabha seats from 15 states. By-elections will be held in nine UP assembly seats in Katehri, Karhal, Meerapur, Ghaziabad, Majhwan, Sisamau, Khair, Phulpur and Kundarki. Voting for these seats will take place on November 13 and the results will be known on November 23.
