Sharda’s husband Brijkishore Sinha is reported to have died on September 22 this year. He was 80 years old. He left this world due to a brain hemorrhage. Sharda Sinha Biography
Sharda, originally from Samastipur, Bihar, was born on October 1, 1952. Born into a family of musicians, Sharda was educated in classical music from a young age. He has sung many popular songs in Bhojpuri and Maithili. Sharda started her career in 1980 on All India Radio and Doordarshan. But he gained popularity by singing songs of Chhath festival.
Sharda has sung some famous Bollywood songs including ‘Kahe To Se Sajna’ from Salman Khan’s ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’, ‘Babul’ from Salman and Madhuri Dixit’s ‘Hum Aapke Hain Koun’ and the song ‘Gangs of Wasseypur 2′. by Anurag Kashyap. Taar Bijli Se Patale’ is included. He also sang a song in Nitin Neera Chandra’s film ‘Deswa’. Sharda was awarded Padma Shri in 1992, Padma Vibhushan in 2018 and Padma Bhushan in 2006.
