The last two weeks have turned out to be the most impactful for Team India in Test cricket. Team India, which was seen as the strongest Test team in the world, suddenly had to lose the series at home. That too at the hands of New Zealand, a team that had previously only won two Test matches in India in the last 60-70 years. Still, this happened because history is made of such amazing feats. New Zealand made history, but now the Indian team faces a crisis it has not seen in its 92-year cricket history. This untoward incident may occur in the next Test match to be held in Mumbai, to avoid it the Indian team will have to make all possible efforts.

What is this misfortune? What is something that has never happened in the 92 years of Indian cricket but is now in danger? We will tell you about this, first let us tell you what has happened so far in this test series. The first match of the Test series was played in Bengaluru and New Zealand won it by 8 wickets. In the first innings of this match, team India was bowled out for just 46 runs, which is their lowest score at home. Then, in three days in the Pune Test, New Zealand won the series by 113 runs. Thus, after winning 18 consecutive series since 2012, for the first time the Indian team lost a series at home.

I didn’t face a clean sweep at home

Now let’s move on to the danger looming over Team India. This is the danger of a total washout in the Test series. The Indian cricket team has faced a big victory in Test series many times throughout its long history, but to date it has not had to face this embarrassment in a series of three or more Test matches in home. Till date, in all the Test series that the Indian team has lost at home, it has never come clean. Either a test match was drawn or team India won a match or two. Although in 2000 they had to face a rout at the hands of South Africa, that series lasted only 2 games.

Will history change in Mumbai?

Now, for the first time, they are in danger of suffering a 3-0 whitewash and Mumbai’s historic Wankhede Stadium may become a witness to this untoward incident, where many golden chapters of Indian cricket have been written. This last test match of the series will start on November 1, in which there is still time. In such a situation, captain Rohit Sharma and coach Gautam Gambhir will have to instill that spirit in their team again, so that the team enters the field with the same attitude as before and can save their honor by winning the last match. And it could also keep World Test Championship final hopes intact.
