Chance of snowfall on mountain tops
Weather Update Today (Aaj Samaj), New Delhi: October is almost over, but the mercury is yet to go down across North India, including the national capital. There is still a feeling of heat due to the strong sunlight during the day. On the other hand, the nights have started to get a little colder. But soon the heat of the day will also subside. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of the western disturbance becoming active after Diwali and in the first week of November. So winter is likely to come.
Snowfall on the peaks will increase the cold
The forecast issued by the Dehradun Meteorological Center says that the weather may change due to the activation of the western disturbance. The weather in the hilly areas of Uttarakhand has remained cold for the past few days. The cold has increased after rains and snowfall on the high peaks of hill districts like Bageshwar, Chamoli, Rudraprayag and Pithoragarh. After Diwali, the cold intensity will start increasing in Uttarakhand.
Some states suffer rain from cyclonic storm
Cyclonic Storm Dana caused heavy rain in some areas of the country. Heavy to very heavy rain occurred in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal and isolated areas of Odisha. Rainfall of up to 120 mm was recorded here. Due to the spread of the cyclone, stormy winds blowing at a speed of 35 to 45 km per hour in the coastal areas of Kerala and Lakshadweep are expected to further intensify and reach a speed of 55 km per hour. The Meteorological Department has advised fishermen not to go to these areas.
