Easy Home Remedies to Get Rid of Dandruff:

  1. baking soda
    Plain and simple, baking soda can serve as an effective remedy to combat dandruff. All you have to do is dampen your hair and sprinkle a handful of baking soda on your scalp. Rub vigorously, massage well and then wash. But avoid shampoo. Initially, after a few sessions, you feel that your hair feels dry. But eventually, your scalp will begin to produce natural oils leaving your hair soft and free of dry flakes.
  2. aspirin
    Easily available aspirin can play an important role in keeping dandruff away. Grind two aspirin into a fine powder and mix it with your regular shampoo. Wash your hair with this mixture and wash it after two to three minutes. The salicylic acid present in aspirin helps treat dandruff effectively.
  3. Curd
    A fresh bowl of curd can also help relieve an itchy scalp. All you have to do is wash your hair with shampoo, apply curd and leave it for 15 minutes. Sprinkle with water, wash again with a small amount of your usual shampoo. Curd is a treasure trove of beneficial bacteria and thus helps prevent flaking of the scalp area. You can also add black pepper to the curd as it also has antifungal properties.

To make this mixture for your scalp, simply mix tumbani mitti with a good amount of water and blend until you get a smooth paste. Add a few drops of lemon juice to this paste.     This is the easiest one ever! Squeeze a whole lemon and massage the juice into your scalp. Leave it for 2 to 3 minutes and wash with regular shampoo. You can also add lemon juice to a cup of water and use it as a final rinse after your hair washing session. Repeat this regularly until the dandruff disappears. The acidic character of lemon helps balance the pH of your hair.

    Apple cider vinegar is an effective natural remedy to eliminate dandruff. It is acidic in nature and helps remove dead cells from the scalp. It also prevents fungal growth. Make a solution using 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar in a cup of water. Shampoo your hair as usual. Then apply this solution to your hair as a final rinse.
  7. Aloe vera
    Aloe Vera reduces skin irritation and has a moisturizing effect. Reduces flaking and itching and relieves dandruff. It is antibacterial and antifungal which further prevents dandruff. Apply aloe vera gel directly to your scalp and leave it for about half an hour. Afterwards wash your hair with a mild shampoo.

    Tea tree oil reduces inflammation, itching and oil. Therefore, it is effective in reducing dandruff. It is both antifungal and antimicrobial. Add 5 to 10 drops of this oil to your regular shampoo bottle and shake well. After shampooing, wash your hair thoroughly.

    Organic coconut oil is often used to prevent dandruff. It moisturizes our scalp and prevents dryness and flaking, which can cause an increase in dandruff. It is also antimicrobial and antifungal in nature. Gently massage your scalp with organic coconut oil, leave it on for a few hours and then wash it off with a mild shampoo.

To prevent dandruff, you can apply neem oil on your scalp and leave it for a few hours or you can make a hair mask with neem. For hair mask, grind neem leaves and make a paste, leave this paste on your scalp for 15 to 20 minutes and then use a mild shampoo. You can also boil some neem leaves in water and use them to wash your hair.

    Fenugreek seeds are rich in proteins that prevent dryness, hair loss and dandruff. They also strengthen the roots of our hair and moisturize our scalp. Fenugreek seeds are the key to having long, thick and beautiful hair. Make a paste by grinding the soaked fenugreek seeds overnight, apply it on your scalp and hair, leave it for 15 to 20 minutes and then cleanse it with a mild shampoo.
