Diwali will be full of problems and difficulties for the people of Delhi. The ban on firecrackers has already ruined the fun of this festival and now the lack of water increases poverty. The Delhi Jal Board has said that water supply in Delhi will remain affected till October 31.
Delhi’s air has already reached the very poor category. In many areas the AQI level is exceeding 400. In such a situation, the government may impose new restrictions.
Water shortage in Delhi until October 31
The Delhi Jal Board has said water supply will remain affected in more than 60 areas till October 31. Water is supplied in Delhi from many water treatment plants. Here the water becomes suitable for drinking and other purposes. After this the supply is made. Water for the 110 MGD Bhargathi plant and the 140 MGD Sonia Vihar plant comes mainly from the Ganges Canal. UP Irrigation Board will maintain and repair it from October 12 to 31. For this reason it has been closed. In such a situation, water is supplied from the Yamuna river, but the level of ammonia in the Yamuna water is high and it is difficult to clean it. For this reason the water supply has decreased. The capacity of both plants has been reduced by 30 percent. Due to this, the water supply is also decreasing.
