Uttar Pradesh: A shocking case has come to light in Gorakhpur where the police arrested an accused who, posing as a DUDA official, misled people in order to get the Prime Minister’s residence. The accused has been identified as Raj Singh, a resident of Maharajganj. The accused deceived between 50 and 60 people in order to provide them with accommodation. The same police arrested the accused from Kotwali area. This matter is being investigated.
Cheating by posing as an official from the DUDA department
In fact, the police had received information about a gang that was committing fraud in the name of providing benefits to the Prime Minister Awas Yojana by posing as officials of the DUDA department of the Municipal Corporation. After which, the police arrested the accused Raj Singh, a resident of Maharajganj. Police are also searching for other members associated with this gang.
Rupee taken as registration fee
During police interrogation, accused Raj Singh said that he has so far committed fraud on 50-60 people to get the Prime Minister’s residence. By fraudulently creating illegal/forged receipts and registration documents, he took online money and cash as registration fee for allotment of houses under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. Raj Singh, accused of forgery, has been arrested. The matter is under investigation.
