Priyanka Gandhi begins her campaign for the Wayanad by-elections today. Today he will participate in three large demonstrations. Priyanka Gandhi had filed the nomination from Wayanad on October 23. This seat fell vacant after Rahul became MP, so by-elections are held here. Priyanka will speak at public meetings in Meenangadi, Panamaram and Pozhuthana.

The by-elections will be held in Kerala’s Wayanad seat on November 13. The main contest here is between Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Navya Haridas and Satyan Mokeri. Wayanad has always been a strong Congress bastion. Rahul Gandhi has been winning from here. Here the competition is always between Congress and the leftist parties. However, the BJP’s vote is also gradually increasing. Everyone’s eyes are fixed on the results of the by-election this time.

After becoming Congress General Secretary in 2019, Priyanka Gandhi had not contested any election until now. He limited himself to promoting his family and his party. This time he is trying his luck in his brother’s seat i.e. Wayanad. Rahul Gandhi had won a landslide victory from Wayanad in the Lok Sabha elections of 2019. He had also won a landslide victory in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

Priyanka contests elections for the first time

In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Rahul Gandhi won the Wayanad seat in Kerala and Rae Bareli in Uttar Pradesh. He chose Rae Bareli, the traditional seat of the Gandhi family, and left Wayanad. After this, the Congress gave ticket to Rahul’s sister Priyanka Gandhi. Priyanka is contesting elections for the first time. BJP has fielded Navya Haridas against him.

‘Will strengthen the relationship between Rahul and Wayanad’

Recently, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra had written a letter to the people of Wayanad. In this she had said that I will strengthen the relationship between Rahul and Wayanad. This will be my first visit as a public representative, but it will not be my first visit as a fighter. Before her nomination, Priyanka had said that when she was 17, she had first campaigned for her father Rajiv Gandhi in 1989. After this she asked for votes for her mother Sonia and brother Rahul. This time she seeks support for herself.
