Preparations for Diwali, celebrated to celebrate the return of Lord Ram to Ayodhya, are in full swing across the world. From India to the United States, people of the Hindu religion have begun to decorate their homes. Diwali is one of the important festivals of the Hindu religion and US President Joe Biden, also aware of this, organized a Diwali party for citizens of Indian origin at the White House on Monday.
On Monday night, Joe Biden will light the lamp in the Blue Room of the White House. Last year too, Joe Biden hosted a similar party on the occasion of Diwali and felicitated Indian Americans along with his wife Jill Biden. The White House statement stated that Joe Biden will also address people of Indian origin during the event.

Sunita Williams is a Hindu of Indian origin who had previously sent Diwali wishes to people around the world from the ISS. According to the White House, he also celebrated his legacy in space by bringing samosas, Upanishads and copies of the Bhagavad Gita.
