Ranchi. Ahead of the assembly elections in Jharkhand, the ruling Jharkhand Mukti Morcha accused chief electoral officer K Ravi Kumar and two senior IPS officers of working for the BJP. JMM has written a letter to the Commission demanding the dismissal of the three officers.
JMM spokesperson Supriyo Bhattacharya said the Giridih police today stopped the vehicle carrying Mandal Murmu along with others. When asked, the people in the vehicle did not say where they were going. So the police stopped the vehicle. Mandal Murmu is one of the proponents of Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, who filed his nomination from Barhaite assembly constituency. Bhattacharya said that Hemant Soren is our star activist. He claimed that Soren’s advocate was being influenced to negatively influence the election results. He alleged that the chief electoral officer and two senior IPS officials were abusing their positions and putting pressure on the Giridih administration to release the vehicle. Bhattacharya said this was a serious violation of the model code of conduct and urged the Election Commission to investigate the matter. And he also urged to ensure fair electoral process in Jharkhand.
BJP demands action against JMM spokesperson for making allegations without evidence
At the same time, the opposition BJP also wrote a letter to the Election Commissioner demanding strict action against the JMM spokesperson for making serious allegations against senior officials without any proof.
