Vatican City, Wednesday, October 16, 2024 (REI): The Office for the Supervision of Liturgical Celebrations of the Holy Father has received information about the Pope’s upcoming liturgical celebrations.

The first of Pope Francis’ liturgical events between November and mid-December is the celebration of a Mass for the cardinals who died last year. The Holy Mass will be celebrated on November 4 at 11 a.m. in St. Peter’s Basilica.

On November 17, Pope Francis will preside over the Mass for the eighth World Day of the Poor, whose theme this year is “The prayers of the poor reach God.” The Eucharistic celebration will take place at 10 a.m. in St. Peter’s Basilica.

On the occasion of the Solemnity of Christ the King, on November 24, World Youth Day will be celebrated at the diocesan level. That day, Pope Francis will preside over mass at 9:30 a.m. in St. Peter’s Basilica.

The Pope’s first program of the month of December will be on December 7, which will be held in St. Peter’s Basilica at 4 p.m. on the occasion of the celebration of the act of Cardinal Creation.

On December 8, the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary, the Pope will celebrate Mass with the new Cardinals at 9:30 a.m.

As is tradition, at 4:00 p.m. that same day the Pope will traditionally honor the Immaculate Conception in Piazza di Spania.

On December 12, the feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Pope Francis will once again celebrate Mass in St. Peter’s Basilica at 6 p.m.
