The Yogi government has significantly increased educational opportunities for poor and bright students. The number of Jai Prakash Narayan Sarvodaya Vidyalayas run by the Department of Social Welfare and Tribal Development in the state has increased from 94 to 100. In these schools, apart from high-quality free residential education, the needy students are also provided with facilities free hostel, study materials and uniforms. This step is not only improving the future of students from poor classes but is also paving the way for social stability and prosperity in their lives.

Initiative to include all sectors of society.

In Jai Prakash Narayan Sarvodaya Vidyalayas, 60 per cent seats are reserved for students from Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, 25 per cent for students from Other Backward Classes and 15 per cent for general category students. Thanks to this inclusive policy, children from poor families from all sectors have equal opportunities. Separate schools have been organized for boys and girls so that they have the opportunity to continue their studies in a safe and effective environment. At present, a total of 100 Sarvodaya Vidyalayas are functioning in 58 districts, which include 31 Sarvodaya Girls Vidyalayas and 69 Sarvodaya Boys Vidyalayas. Of these, residential facilities are also being expanded in 45 schools.

The dream of poor girl students to become doctors and engineers is becoming a reality thanks to the efforts of the yogi government. Talented girl students studying in the state’s Sarvodaya Vidyalayas are now receiving free coaching for NEET and JEE. In this framework, a special training center has been started at Madihan of Mirzapur district where 40 meritorious girl students are provided free training facilities.

CM Yogi’s focus on holistic development along with education

In Sarvodaya Vidyalayas, the yogi government provides students with not only education but also complete arrangements for study materials, uniforms and sports for free. The goal of this system is to empower students not only academically but also physically and mentally. The recruitment process of 570 teachers retired from the state government service is also carried out in these schools to provide high-quality education to the students. Among these teachers, the fees for TGT (Trained Graduate Teachers) teaching from classes 6 to 10 have been fixed at Rs 34,125 and for PGT (Postgraduate Teachers) teaching from classes 11 to 12, the fees have been fixed at 35,700 rupees. .

The number of beneficiaries increased as a result of the efforts of the Yogi government

In recent years, thanks to this government scheme, the number of beneficiary students has increased year after year. While this number was 32,429 in the year 2018-19, it increased to over 35,000 in 2024-25. The number of Sarvodaya residential schools in the state has reached 100, in which six new schools have been opened recently. Along with this, the objective of the Yogi government is that more and more children from poor classes can take advantage of this residential education system.
