Narak Chaturdashi, also known as Chhoti Diwali or Roop Chaudas, is celebrated a day before Diwali. In the year 2024, the Narak Chaudas festival will be celebrated on October 30. This day is considered important for special puja and bathing, the purpose of which is to remove bad energies and achieve purity. This day is also associated with the murder of Lord Krishna and Narakasura. However, by worshiping Goddess Kali, Shiv Ji, Hanuman Ji and Yamdev on this day, auspicious results are also achieved. Auspicious time of Narak Chaturdashi Puja

The Narak Chaturdashi festival is celebrated this time on October 30. The auspicious time for the evening puja on this day will be from 5:41 pm to 7 pm. While Abhyang Snan will be performed on Chaturdashi Tithi on October 31 between 5.33 am and 6.47 am

Worship method:

Morning bath: On this day, bathe with cow dung and sesame oil in the morning before sunrise. If you wake up early in the morning and take bath on that day, you will get many auspicious results.

Light a lamp: After bathing, turn on a lamp at the main entrance and other places in the house. By doing this, you will be able to eliminate negative forces. Furthermore, by lighting a lamp, your ancestors and God are pleased.

Worship of God: On this day, light a lamp, incense sticks, etc. in the place of worship. after that Worship Lord Krishna, Mother Kali and Yamraj. While killing Narakasura, Shri Krishna had invoked Goddess Kali. Light a lamp for Yamraj and keep it outside the house, which is called Yam Deep.

Naivedya Offer: Make sure to offer sweets, fruits and other offerings to the gods and goddesses during the puja.

Prayers and Mantras: Pray to God for freedom from sins. Chant special mantras for the well-being of the entire family. You can chant mantras of Lord Krishna, Mata Kali, Hanuman ji. Apart from this, reciting Hanuman Chalisa also provides special benefits on this day.

According to legends, there was a demon called Narakasura, who spread terror across the land with his atrocities. He had captured 16,000 girls and harassed many wise men. By prayer of the gods, Lord Krishna along with his wife Satyabhama killed Narakasura and freed those girls. It is said that Narakasura was killed on this day and that is why it is celebrated as Naraka Chaturdashi.
