Bullets were fired in broad daylight in Hazaribagh, Jharkhand. Manjeet Yadav, former president of a local religious committee, was shot dead in the district on Tuesday morning. Manjeet Yadav was shot outside his house. This incident caused commotion in the area. Giving information about the accused, police said the attacker was identified as Vivek Soni, who was arrested.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Arvind Kumar Singh said the incident took place around 8:00 am, when former Hazaribagh Ram Navami Mahasamiti president Manjeet Yadav (50 years) was leaving his residence. He said he died in the hospital. The SP said Manjeet Yadav was in jail in connection with some criminal cases. He recently got out on bail.
What is the motive for the murder?
The police are investigating the case, but prima facie it appears that the murder took place over a land dispute. Manjeet Yadav’s supporters blocked National Highway 33 at Zilla Parishad Chowk for several hours in protest against the killing. However, later the police cleared the traffic jam and smoothed out the traffic system.
Fear of being killed by a shooter
Manjeet Yadav’s family members said that suddenly two bullets were fired from the front. Two more bullets were fired. The shooter is suspected of opening fire. Manjeet Yadav has been the former president of the Ram Navami Committee. His wife Sunita Yadav is the outgoing councilor of Ward 23. It is coming to light that Manjeet Yadav was murdered by a shooter.
