Amalner mounting seat: Maharashtra Assembly elections have been announced and all political parties have intensified their election campaign. Let us tell you that there are a total of 288 assembly seats in the state for which polling will be held on November 20, 2024, while counting of votes will be held on November 23, 2024. Amalner assembly seat is also one of these 288 seats in Maharashtra. There was a time when the BJP had scored a hat-trick in this seat falling in Jalgaon district and there was a time when independents had unfurled the flag in two consecutive elections. Currently, NCP’s Anil Bhaidas Patil is the MLA of this seat.

Patils has dominated in Amalner

Amalner assembly seat is one of the 6 assembly seats under Jalgaon Lok Sabha seat of Maharashtra. In this seat, Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe voters collectively have the ability to decide victory or defeat. This seat has the highest number of Patils and this is the reason Patils have dominated the electoral history here. There are a good number of Muslims in this seat and they can decide the difference between victory and defeat. Two-thirds of the voters in the Amalner Assembly seat are from rural areas. The NCP has also expressed confidence in Anil Bhaidas Patil this time.

Independents won in 2009 and 2014

Talking about the electoral history of Amalner, the Congress candidate won from this seat in the assembly elections held from 1951 to 1972. At the same time, in the assembly elections of 1978 and 1980, the Janata Party candidate won. In 1985, Congress again won this seat, but in 1990 elections, this seat went to Janata Dal. The BJP had raised its flag in this seat in the assembly elections of 1995, 1999 and 2004. In the assembly elections of 2009 and 2014, the independent candidates surprised everyone and won. In 2019, this seat was won by Anil Bhaidas Patil of the NCP.
