The cyclone will reach the northern Bay of Bengal on the morning of October 24. Later, it will reach the shores of the coastal states of the country on the intervening night of October 24-25. During this period the wind speed is expected to be 120 kilometers per hour.

According to information, due to flooding in many areas of the city, 5 teams of NDRF and SDRF were deployed on Tuesday to help people stranded in the city.

District administration took action

Due to rains in Bengaluru, the Bengaluru Urban district administration declared holiday in schools and Anganwadi centers on Wednesday i.e. October 23 in view of heavy rains in the district. Bengaluru Deputy Urban Commissioner Jagadish Ji said in a statement that the decision was taken as a precautionary measure and in the interest of students.

Jagadish also said that to avoid accidents, universities have been directed not to use dilapidated and weak buildings for conducting classes. He asked parents and the university management to ensure that students do not go to low-lying areas that are flooded.
