Giving information, Ganga Shaya area deputy superintendent of police (DSP) said that on Monday afternoon, Manisha Kumari’s husband Lokesh (32) told the police that his wife had closed the door of the room from inside and after repeatedly touching. He didn’t give any reaction.
DSP Ganga Shaya further said that after receiving the information, a police team reached the spot, broke the door of the room and found the woman hanging from the ceiling. He had lost his life. The police managed to lower the woman’s body. And after completing the formalities, the body was sent for autopsy.
Police officer Ganga said Manisha and Lokesh got married two years ago. The victim’s family alleges that her husband Lokesh and his parents started harassing Manisha Kumari after marriage. They used to harass her for dowry.
According to the deputy superintendent of police, following the complaint of Manisha Kumari’s parents, the police have registered a case of dowry death under section 80 of the Indian Justice Code against her husband Lokesh and her in-laws. He said police handed over the woman’s body to her family after the autopsy on Tuesday morning.
