Unique method of liquor smuggling in Bihar
The prohibition law is in force in Bihar, but liquor bootleggers continue to smuggle liquor in new ways. The latest case occurred in Muzaffarpur district, where liquor was brought in a Hindustan Petroleum tanker. Even the police were surprised to see this method. The Excise Department seized the Sakri Saraiya oil tanker in the district, but the businessman fled from the spot. Hindustan Petroleum tank number comes from Nagaland, the place from where the liquor was brought is being investigated.
Excise Commissioner Vijay Shankar Dubey said the Excise Department team from Sakri Saraiya on Muzaffarpur-Hajipur highway recovered foreign liquor and beer from Hindustan Petroleum tanker. This action was taken under the leadership of excise inspector Manoj Kumar and Jamadar Soni Mahiwal. Businessmen and tanker truck drivers took advantage of the darkness and fled the scene. The tanker was seized and taken to Chhata Chowk Excise Police Station.

According to the excise department, the tanker was to be unloaded at Muzaffarpur itself. Deputy Commissioner of Excise Vijay Shekhar Dubey said secret information was received that a consignment of liquor was being secretly transported in a tanker. Following this information, a team was formed and a blockade was carried out at Ramdayalunagar. Meanwhile, the tanker moved quickly from Ramdayalu to Hajipur Road. When the production team started chasing him, the driver and the businessman fled the scene, leaving the tanker at Sakri Saraiya NH.
The product team has commandeered the tanker. The seized liquor and beer are manufactured in Arunachal Pradesh. 200 cases of liquor have been seized on the tanker. The local businessman who brought liquor from the oil tanker is being identified. A case has been registered against him and raids are underway to arrest him.
