Fazlur Rehman
The situation in Pakistan has worsened since the elections held in February this year. Protests are taking place across the country and the political crisis is deepening. To bring Pakistan out of the crisis, Jamaat Ulema-e-Islami (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has reiterated the demand for re-election.
Fazlur Rahman said that new elections are necessary to save the country and its salvation. Speaking to the media on Wednesday, Fazal highlighted the importance and need for fair elections. He said: “New elections are the only way to save Pakistan.”
Criticizing the current government, he said that this government was formed with a “false” mandate and lacks legitimacy.

Fazlur Rehman had also earlier claimed at a public meeting in Karachi that seats were being “sold” and had appealed for re-election to maintain the democratic process.
Demand for Imran Khan’s release
Referring to the arrest of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder and former Prime Minister Imran Khan, Rehman demanded the release of political prisoners. He also spoke about the 26th Constitutional Amendment and said that it initially included 56 articles, which his party reduced to 27.
JUI-F’s role is important
Fazlur Rehman stated that JUI-F’s participation in the Parliament of Pakistan was important and added that without us the government would not have got 11 additional votes. He insisted that the party’s efforts to amend the Constitution and improve its legitimacy had been successful, while ARY reported that the PTI’s abstention was due to its internal conflicts.
Even before this, Fazal had rejected the election results and said the elections were rigged.
