The speaker stated that today we see that air and water are continually polluted. If this continues, we will cause great harm to our future generations. He said that even in Gurbani, land, air and water have been given a very high status. Therefore, it is everyone’s duty to take good care of them.

The speaker said that the state government will provide subsidy to the above-ground seedbeds prepared by the Punjab Agricultural University under the Crop Residue Management Scheme. The major need of the hour is the use of crop residue management machinery for sustainable crop residue management. Sandhwan said eligible beneficiaries, including individual farmers and cooperative societies, can purchase machines like Super SMS, Happy Seeder and Paddy Straw Chopper with 50 per cent subsidy.

Customized hiring centers can be set up with an investment of Rs 30 lakh and the machines can be purchased with a subsidy of 80 per cent. He said the State Government is further strengthening the infrastructure for remains collection, packaging, transportation and storage facilities. Kultar Singh Sandhwan said progressive farmers who do not burn stubble will be honored in the Assembly.
