Following the irregularities in the NEET UG 2024 exam, the panel constituted by the Central Government to review the NEET exam and the National Testing Agency has submitted its report to the Union Ministry of Education. This panel was formed under the chairmanship of former ISRO chief Dr. K. Radhakrishnan. The committee has made many recommendations in its report on the NEET exam. Let us know what changes the panel has recommended in the NEET UG exam.
The committee said in its report that the exam should be submitted in digital format and the exam should be conducted on an OMR sheet. The seven-member committee said in its report that the question papers should be sent to the examination centers in digital mode. This can prevent incidents such as paper leaks.
NEET UG 2025: Exam will be conducted in online and hybrid mode
According to the Indian Express report, the committee said that the NEET UG exam should be conducted in more than one phase because the number of students is large. Like JEE Main and JEE Advanced, exams are conducted. In addition, the exam must be taken in online mode and when this is not possible, the exam will be taken in hybrid mode. In centers where the exam is conducted in hybrid mode, the question papers will have to be sent digitally and candidates will have to give their answers on the OMR sheet.
NEET UG Panel: There should be a cut-off for NEET UG exam
From now on, candidates can appear for the NEET UG exam as many times as they want. No attempts on the exam have been resolved. The committee in its report suggested limiting the number of attempts for NEET-UG because currently, candidates can take the exam as many times as they want.
NEET UG Recommendation: Permanent employees should be appointed in NTA.
The panel has advocated for greater government control over the administration of the exams. This will include increasing the number of its own exam centers and appointing more permanent staff to the NTA rather than outsourcing the conduct of exams. Currently, the national examination relies heavily on outsourcing and contracted staff.
